Our object is to be happy and healthy, yet so many of us are depressed, anxious, and unfulfilled. Despite years of effort, remedies offered by mental health professionals have been inconsistent, at best. Theories and diagnoses and strategies and techniques and treatments abound, but we don’t have all the answers. What helps one person is unlikely to benefit another, and what helped you yesterday may not work today. Part of it is our nature, our genetic makeup, but, luckily for most of us, much of our struggle is in our heads, the result of our daily decisions, how we think and how we choose to act.
